Madhuram Malayalam Issue 20
Students of Class 8A at SAFA English Medium School released a beautifully crafted 19th issue of  handwritten magazine “Madhuram Malayalam." Created under the guidance of their class teacher, this magazine stands as a heartfelt tribute to the richness, rhythm, and emotional depth of our mother tongue.
This magazine is more than an academic exercise—it’s a quiet celebration of identity, culture, and the emotional ties we hold with our native tongue. Madhuram Malayalam reminds us that the language we speak is also the language we feel, and preserving it begins with owning it—letter by letter.

The Farmer and the Crane

In a village, a farmer found that some cranes were destroying his crops, so he spread a net in the field to catch them. Next day, the farmer went to check the net. He saw that in addition to the harmful cranes, a poor stork was also trapped in the net. When the crane saw the farmer crying, he begged the farmer to let him go: “I am a poor stork. I did not eat any crops.” But the farmer did not
listen to him. He also caught him and put him in a cage. Then the farmer said to the stork, ‘What you said may be true. But since you were caught with those wicked birds, you will have to suffer the punishment of your friends.’

The Rabbit and the Tortoise

Once upon a time there was a Rabbit and Tortoise. They were good friends. They used to meet and play every day. The rabbit always boasted that he could run faster than the tortoise so they decided to have a race. They chose a starting and finishing point. The rabbit ran really fast and soon left the tortoise far behind. He thought that tortoise is too slow and he can rest for a while so he stopped under a tree and went to sleep. Mean while tortoise kept walking the whole time and reached the winning point. When the rabbit wake up he saw that tortoise has already won the race.

A Cricket and An ant

Once there was an ant. She lived in a field. A cricket lived near its hole. They were friends. The cricket was lazy.

In the months of summer it sang and made merry. It did not store food for winter. It was careless. The ant was not lazy. She worked day and night. She gathered grains for winter. In winter, the ground was covered with snow. The cricket had nothing to eat. The ant had grains to eat. The cricket went to the ant to borrow some grains. The ant asked it what it had been doing during summer. The cricket replied that it sang and made merry during summer. The ant replied, “If you sang the summer away, you should dance away the winter.”

Moral: No pains, no gains.

My Diary
10 December 2025, 10pm
"Dear Diary,
I went on a trip after a long time with my sister, mother, father, uncle, aunt, and their daughter to Mysore and Coorg on 9th October 2025. We went in our uncle's car. My mother and father told me that we were going to drop them at the railway station. After surprising us, Uncle told us that they were also going with us. My sister and I screamed with happiness."

2. Journal Entry (Mysore Palace and Zoo)
"We went to our room after watching TV. We slept and woke up in the morning. We ate ghee roast and masala dosa for breakfast and went to Mysore Palace. I loved the palace; it was so beautiful. After seeing the beautiful place, we ate cheese balls in the car. We felt hungry, so we went to a hotel named Mysore Hotel. We ate idlis and chutney and drank tea, then went to Mysore Zoo."

3. Zoo Visit
"In the zoo, I saw a giraffe, hippo, monkey, hen, golden quail, cheetah, kangaroo, deer, tiger, lion, lovebirds, pelican, woodpecker, flamingo, gorilla, elephant, and cat. After that, we went to a room and took rest."
