SAFA NEW

Creative Ink Fest – A Celebration of Pen, Paper & Pride
Last week, SAFA wasn’t just about textbooks and timetables. The school offstage program has started with  the *Creative Ink Fest*.

On *31st July, Thursday*, students took part in the *English handwriting competition*. *Category II* stepped in at *12:00 PM*, followed by *Category III* at *3:00 PM*. There was no stage, no spotlight. Just paper, ink, and the simple challenge of writing beautifully. And yet, it felt like each stroke said something — not just letters, but care, focus, and pride.

Then on *4th August, Monday*, the fest is going to be continued with *Hindi and Arabic handwriting* rounds. The timings are as follows:
- 12:00 PM – Cat III (Hindi)
- 12:40 PM – Cat II (Hindi)
- 2:00 PM – Cat III (Arabic)
- 2:40 PM – Cat II (Arabic)

*SAFA English Medium School's Football Team Shines in CBSE Cluster-X Tournament*

The CBSE Cluster-X Football Tournament, held at Arafa English School Ground in Attur from July 29 to August 6, 2025, witnessed an impressive display of skills by SAFA English Medium School's football team. Led by Captain Salah Shajahan, the team comprised talented players Mohammad Sahl, Mohammad Fahmi, Mohammad KK, Mihal Ali Ebrahim, Abdul Hadi, Shamil Zubair, Imran Hamza, Mohammad Shezin, Mohammad Midhlaj Mav, Mohammad Midhlaj K, Adil Mohammad Ali, Fahid Ali, Izan Iqbal, Shiril Arshad, and Mohammad Razi. The team was coached by Nishad Usman and guided by Thasleem Sir.

SAFA English Medium School's team started strong, winning their first two matches with a convincing score of 3:0. Their impressive performance earned them a spot in the quarterfinals, where they faced off against the previous year's champions and the host team, Arafa English School.

Unfortunately, the quarterfinal match did not go in SAFA's favor, as they lost 6:2 to their opponents. The match was marred by controversy, with three red cards being issued, one of which was given to Coach Nishad Usman. The intense competition and heated moments on the field led to quarrels among the players.

Despite the setback, SAFA English Medium School's team demonstrated remarkable skill and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Their participation in the CBSE Cluster-X Football Tournament was a valuable experience for the players, and they will look to bounce back stronger in future competitions.

*Madhuram Malayalam — A Handwritten Tribute to Our Language*

On July 28, 2025, the students of Class 7A at SAFA English Medium School released a beautifully crafted handwritten magazine titled “Madhuram Malayalam." Created under the guidance of their class teacher, this magazine stands as a heartfelt tribute to the richness, rhythm, and emotional depth of our mother tongue.

Every page of Madhuram Malayalam reflects sincere effort and genuine love for the language. From poems and short stories to proverbs and quotes, the magazine captures the essence of Malayalam in the most personal and creative way possible—through the strokes of each student’s own handwriting.

What makes this magazine truly special is not just the content, but the intention behind it. In an age dominated by digital screens and typed words, Madhuram Malayalam brings back the forgotten charm of writing by hand, connecting students not only to the language but to the tradition it carries.

This magazine is more than an academic exercise—it’s a quiet celebration of identity, culture, and the emotional ties we hold with our native tongue. Madhuram Malayalam reminds us that the language we speak is also the language we feel, and preserving it begins with owning it—letter by letter.

CITY AFTER DARK

The city stretches,
exhales its neon breath
into the empty sky.
Shadows spill like secrets
onto cracked pavements,
and windows blink
like half-told stories.

A man walks alone
with music in his ears
and memories in his pocket —
the kind that don’t speak
until after midnight.

Nothing rushes now.
Even time seems unsure,
caught in the slow sway
of traffic lights and thoughts.

Night is not silence.
It’s listening.
To wheels on wet roads,
to dreams climbing rooftops,
to everything you don’t say
in the daylight.

Letter to Gaza

They call it war.
But we see what it really is.
Slaughter.

They call it history.
We call it a cycle of horror
that never ends.

You die in the dark,
and somehow, they call *you* the terrorist.
Your children scream from beneath the rubble—
and they call that justice.

They twist history into justification,
raise flags over broken homes,
and call it peace.

Young people—strangers to each other—
are killing and dying.
Because the old men who caused all of this
chose ego over empathy.
Then smiled.
And shook hands.
And walked away.

You die under skies
that should’ve protected you.
And us?
We scroll.
We argue.
We look away.

They blame you for surviving.
As if just being born in Gaza
makes you guilty.

They sit in suits,
chant slogans,
and sleep peacefully—
while you bury your children
with bare hands and a broken soul.

And now,
quietly… slowly…
the world is forgetting you.

This isn’t war.
It’s a massacre
wrapped in politics.

This isn’t failure.
It’s betrayal.
Disguised as silence.

And we—
we let it happen.
We turned our faces away.

We failed you.
We betrayed you.
And we don’t deserve your forgiveness.

— *For Gaza. For the forgotten. For the truth no one wants to say out loud.*

 MY MOTHER

My mother is the most important person in my life. Her name is Aseeba. She is kind, loving, and she is my best friend. She always takes care of me. Every day, my mom wakes up early to prepare my breakfast and tiffin. She never complains; she always has a smile on her face and is ready to help me with anything I need. She listens to me when I have problems and offers advice. She encourages me to do my best and helps me believe in myself. Whether I am feeling happy or sad, she is always there to support me. My mom is the heart of our family.

I love you so much, Mom.
