Where minds grow sharp and futures take flight
Teacher's guide with patient care

UNSUNG HEROES OF HISTORY

Unsung heroes of history are individuals whose contributions have been pivotal in shaping society, yet they often remain overlooked or forgotten in mainstream historical narratives. These individuals may have played vital roles in social movements, scientific discoveries, humanitarian efforts, or even warfare, but their efforts are frequently overshadowed by more famous figures or simply left out of the historical spotlight.

These heroes often work behind the scenes, challenging societal norms, making sacrifices, and displaying extraordinary courage. Despite their crucial roles, they seldom receive the recognition or accolades they deserve. The stories of unsung heroes like Harriet Jacobs, Rosalind Franklin, Irena Sendler, and Bass Reeves, for example, reveal acts of bravery, intelligence, and innovation that have helped shape the world in significant ways. Their contributions, once hidden, are essential to understanding the full spectrum of human history.
By recognizing unsung heroes, we not only fill in the gaps of our historical understanding but also honor those whose achievements have been unjustly forgotten. They serve as a reminder that history is often made by ordinary people doing extraordinary things, even when the world isn’t watching.

Achromic being

Sitting by the window,
getting lost in thoughts.
Remembering the grief of loss.
The one I loved, that filled me with such joy has began to run away.

All I could remember was
I could just go anywhere
Without any interference.
Getting lost in the thought of the one I lost

And so I coloured myself with colours,
Colours that I despised ,
Just so I could blend into colours,
Colours they preferred.

How they used to come woke me up
Shouting eachother's name while coming.
Now all they left was those memories
All I had with them couldn't even comeback.

But now I am here stuck with those memories
And I would reminisce about how time had flown.

In the beginning was darkness
darkness again at the end
awaiting those who despise Light
Light's gift for all

And so I coloured myself with colours,
Colours that I despised,
Just so I could blend into colours,
Colours they preferred.

THREADS OF COURAGE

In the face of storm, when shadows grow tall,
A heart beats with courage, refusing to fall.
With each step unsteady,
yet strong in resolve.
A spirit ignites, as fear dissolve.

Bravery whispers, in moments of doubt.
It's not the absence of fear, but pushing without.
Through trials and struggles, through pain and strife, the brave is rise to challenge, embracing their life.

They stand for the voiceless,
They fight for the right.
With passion as Armor, they shine in the  night.
For every small act, in the quietest place.
Bravery blooms, a testament of grace

So let us be bold, let our voices be heard.
In the tapestry of life, let our courage be stirred.
For the brave forge a path, where hope dares to tread.
With hearts full of fire, and dreams that are fed.

The beauty of Nature

Once upon a time, in a quiet village nestled between rolling hills and thick forests, lived a young woman named Aila. She spent her days working in the village square, surrounded by the constant buzz of people hurrying about their daily lives. The villagers were consumed with their tasks—building, trading, and chasing after fleeting things that seemed important in the moment but were quickly forgotten by the next.

Aila, though dutiful in her work, often found herself pausing to listen to the whisper of the wind through the trees, or to watch the sunlight dance on the surface of the nearby river. She noticed the way the birds greeted each new dawn with songs, as if each day was a gift to be celebrated. Yet, when she pointed these things out to others, they would laugh, shake their heads, and tell her they were too busy to stop and admire the wind or the sun. They had “important” things to do, after all.

One evening, after another long day, Aila felt the weight of the villagers' hurried lives pressing down on her heart. She decided to leave her village for a little while, seeking solace in the untouched beauty of the forest that lay just beyond the fields. The moment she stepped into the woods, a sense of peace washed over her. Here, time seemed to slow, and every sound, every scent, every color seemed more vivid.

As she walked deeper into the forest, Aila came across a clearing. In the center stood an ancient oak tree, its branches wide and heavy with age. It was as though the tree had witnessed countless lifetimes, its roots dug deep into the earth, yet it stood unwavering, quietly observing the passing of time. Aila sat beneath its mighty boughs and closed her eyes.

In the stillness, she began to hear the subtle heartbeat of the earth. The hum of insects, the rustle of leaves, the distant call of an owl—all of it wove together into a symphony that spoke of the life around her. She felt connected to it all—the trees, the animals, the sky. Every piece of the world was part of an intricate dance, moving together in perfect harmony. This was the beauty of life that so many seemed to forget in their race toward the next thing.

Aila realized that true beauty wasn’t in the grand, fleeting moments but in the quiet, constant presence of life. It was in the way the river shaped the land over time, the way the seasons shifted with the rhythm of the earth, and the way each breath carried the scent of pine and soil. Nature, in its simplicity, held the profound truths that humans so often missed in their pursuit of more.
She spent the night under the stars, feeling the cool grass beneath her and listening to the gentle rustling of the leaves in the breeze. For the first time in a long while, she felt truly alive, as if she had reconnected with something ancient and eternal.

When Aila returned to her village the next morning, her eyes sparkled with the wisdom she had gained. The villagers were still hurrying about, consumed with their tasks. But Aila now knew a secret—there was more to life than the rush and the noise. She smiled, understanding that while the others may not see it, the beauty of life was always there, quietly waiting to be noticed, just beyond the edges of their busy lives.

From that day forward, Aila carried the peace of the forest within her, reminding herself to pause, breathe, and remember the simple, enduring beauty of the world. Even in the midst of the chaos, she had learned to find the grace and wonder in every moment, a lesson most people forget to see, but one she would never lose again.

Mind

My mind was lost in tomorrow's thought,
I forgot to live today, it's what I've brought.
Was I happy, though, amidst the haze?
My heart is torn, and my mind is dazed.

I wish I could turn back time's hand,
A time traveler, to erase the past's stand.
But what if I want to hold on tight,
To memories that linger through the night?

The weight of what's been, and what may be,
Is crushing me, and I'm lost in reverie.
I long to break free from this mental strife,
And find solace in the present life.

Perhaps, one day, I'll learn to let go,
And find happiness in the moment's glow.
But for now, I'm stuck in this thought maze,
And tomorrow's uncertainty brings me to my knees.

The stars

When I look at the beautiful  sky
And watching the stars
I feel that angels sending me
Blessings with a gorgeous smile

Star alone shine for me
Miles and Miles away
How can a star send me a smile
And I decide my fate I wondered

When the star twinkle in the sky
They bring delight to my heart
The stars hide in the day and
Came out at night

The stars brightens the dark sky
In the night , that is why we feel
An attraction to the stars
Stars sharpen my despair

HER!!!

She wore a bright smile and a white coat. Desperate,
To heal hopeless hearts and Bloody wounds.
Only if she knew that the lips she smiled with
Was gonna be ripped in halves By the hands of filthy men.

Only if she knew that the White coat was gonna get smeared in blood instead.
So bloody that is scares her own life and other women
Away. Away from their dreams.

It was neither a short skirt nor
A tight dress-like they always blamed on as the cause.
It was a white coat and some books, adulterated with
Thoughts actions and raw desires of some men.
And only men.

Tied chairs and bloody rods.
Bruised wrists and torn clothes.
Blank mind and numb heart.
Mustache and beard or maybe multiples of them.
Those being the only things she could make out before waking up
From her slumber which she has been lacking for days now.

Thud thud. She felt her heartbeat,
Despite knowing that it was just a nightmare,
Knowing now what the other soul felt on that day.
Her heart dropped, not oblivious to the fact that
Today or tomorrow it will be the reality of another woman
Or maybe even of her own.

It all started with the death of a girl.
Then the tears and screams of another woman.
Then a doctor’s blood smeared coat.
One after another until it became too normal to a point its ignored.
All those slowly crept into the girl’s heart making it its home,
Planting the roots of ever growing fears.

Yet another glimpse of dreams,Bravery, freedom and
a life so bright covered With black sheets of terror
Due to the unfiltered thoughts and unforgivable actions of men,
Who are nothing but filthy animals with hearts
That only pumped blood of innocent women.

PAIN

Pain is my constant companion in the silent hours of the night.

It whispers to me tales of sorrow and loss, its voice a mournful dirge.

It clutches at my heart with icy fingers, leaving me feeling cold, empty and alone.

As I lay here in the dark, I listen to the sound of my own quiet weeping, knowing that pain is the only partner I have in the solitude.

A Tearful Night

The moon hangs low, a mournful sight, As darkness shrouds the world in night. My heart is heavy, filled with pain, As tears cascade like summer rain.

A lonely soul, adrift at sea, No solace found, no peace for me. The weight of sorrow, hard to bear, A heavy burden, beyond repair.

But in the depths of darkest night, A glimmer hope, a guiding light. With time, the pain will slowly fade, And joy will rise, to take its place.

The Importance of Mental Health Awareness in Schools

In recent years, mental health has emerged as a critical topic in education, and for good reason. With rising pressures from academics, social dynamics, and external expectations, students often find themselves navigating overwhelming emotions. Understanding and addressing mental health is essential for fostering a supportive school environment where everyone can thrive.Mental health awareness is vital for several reasons. First, it helps destigmatize the conversation around mental health issues. When students feel free to discuss their struggles, they’re more likely to seek help and support. Schools that prioritize mental health education create a culture of openness, encouraging students to share their experiences and seek assistance without fear of judgment.

Moreover, incorporating mental health education into the curriculum can improve academic performance. Students who are mentally healthy are more engaged, focused, and ready to learn. By addressing mental health needs, schools can reduce absenteeism and dropout rates, leading to a more successful and harmonious learning environment.

As we navigate the complexities of adolescence, it’s essential to prioritize mental health awareness in our schools. By embracing this vital conversation, we can ensure that every student feels seen, heard, and valued. Together, let’s cultivate an environment where mental health is a priority, paving the way for a healthier, happier future for all.
